Goodbye Mushi

We have been having a hard time taking care of Mushka, the family dog, a siberian husky/samoyed mix. She is beautiful and we all love her. When we got her, my mom was determined that she would be an inside dog. That worked, for awhile. But she has too much energy to be cooped up. She is a runner by nature. She belongs with a sled in the snow, not on a wood floor in the living room. After having too many things chewed up and ruined by her, we had to leave her outside for most of the day. She has a high pitched bark, which I'm sure the neighbors loved. Gretchen was really good with her. She took her on walks and played with her constantly. But, when Gretch left for Egypt, mushka didin't get all the attention that she needed....Long story short, yesterday a family from Lindon took her to live with them on their farm. The mom has another husky that she needs a mushing partner for and mushka is just made for that. We feel like the whole thing was an answer to prayer. Mushka finally has a home where she can do everything she wants to, and people who will let her lick them till the cows come home (we really weren't fans of her licking obsession). Fortunately, this family is awesome and said we can come visit whenever we want. I think Gretchen said it best..."We're not giving her up, we're giving her more."

  1. Wow, I can't believe she's gone! We didn't get to say goodbye! Levi is going to be devastated!

  3. It is always hard giving your dog a new home. We gave ours to my parents so we at least get to still see him.
